Being an eco-exhibitor

The Salon du Cheval de Paris is venturing into sustainable development. You can also limit your impact on the environment!

When you create your stand:

1. Favour a rented stand provided by the Salon du Cheval de Paris.
2. Avoid creating a different stand for each event: instead consider having a modular one.
3. Favour reusable items that will have a longer life cycle and will therefore have less impact on the environment.
4. Avoid using materials that result from the petrochemical industry (plastics, etc.) and favour natural materials (wood, OSB) resulting from renewable resources.
5. Opt for non-varnished materials, choose paints with an eco-label (that meet French Environmental or European Eco-label standards). Choose coverings which do not emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as formaldehyde which is harmful to health.
6. Find out about waste management at the end of the event.
7. Consider "mono-materials" for more efficient recycling.

Creating the decor and choosing your furniture:

A temporary and original decor is often the guarantee of your identity during the event. How can you harmonize temporary and permanent requirements?

1. Optimize transport, which emits a great deal of CO2, by limiting the number and the size of your furniture items.
2. For your plant decor, choose seasonal flowers and local species. You can also rent them. Do not forget to water them. At the end of the exhibition, take them home with you or offer them to someone!
3. For your shelves and display units, think about re-using previous or second-hand ones and recycled products.
4. For new materials, favour the use of certified cardboard or wood (PEFC or FSC).
5. Pack smart: limit over-packaging and avoid unnecessary protective coverings for your products.
6. Sort your wrappings on your stand before disposing of them.

Using lighting efficiently:

1. Limit your electrical consumption during the event.
2. Avoid using generators.
3. Only use additional lighting if necessary.
4. Favour energy-saving light bulbs and LEDs for additional lighting.
5. Limit the use of batteries that are toxic and must be specifically sorted at the end of their life cycle.
6. For your small electrical appliances, choose products that have a good energy performance (A rating).
